Japanese automakers have ascended the auto industry’s ladder to become some of the most popular and consumer friendly in the whole world.
The Japanese company has long been known for producing fantastic, rally-inspired, performance-oriented vehicles to add to their pedestrian line-up. While it may not have production vehicles that can keep up with something like a Corvette Z06, this smaller automaker does still hold the advantage in the all-wheel drive performance car department.
But consumers look onto Subaru as affordable little tunable sports car. The Impreza STI WRX for instance can be tuned to up to or more than 550hp fairly easily.
Here is our top Subaru Engines list
Great engine to install and leave it alone. Too expensive and time consuming to build up.
280 PS/ 2.0L / Twin Turbo / stock performance
Turbo upgrades to any EJ208 are pretty much a non event, no bother. Any upgrades essentially are a non event and not worth your time and money. If you have a pre Rev D manual, then possibly a sequentiall controller, but BH's don't really need them. If one has an EJ208 powered GT, then the best thing to do if you want to start modding, is hit it with a single conversion. BEWARE THE COMPRESSION, I state it cause it is relevant, you must match your ECU to the compression, if you run an ECU for an 8.5:1 STi, in one of the 9:1 208's, you will have severe pinking/detonation as experienced buy quite a few people.
Rev D EJ208's can be considered a totally different motor to the A/B/C's, they run totally different cams, cam pulleys with different timing marks, different crank sprocket with different timing marks, pink 550cc injectors instead of yellow 440's, different intake manifold design. etc.
Engine Type: Twin Turbo
Engine Displacement: 4 Cylinder DOHC

1998-2003 Legacy chassis code BE/BH5 JDM GT's, GT-B's and B4's (206 kW (280 PS; 276 bhp)) Transmission: Manual
