The race was very tight with the Finnish legend Tommi Mäkinen winning the first place and followed by Colin McRae who lost with only one point.
The Manufacturers’ title went home with Subaru. When the season came to an end, the car was sold and a year later driven in four rounds of the World Rally Championship: Portugal, Argentina, San Remo and Spain by the Polish rally driver and multiple Dakar Rally participants Krzysztof Holowczyc.
The car was finally restored in 2008 and 2009 and brought to its current state.
A four-cylinder 2.0-liter boxer engine is bolted under its hood, churning out more than 300 hp at 5,500 rpm and mated with sequential gearbox that distributes the engine’s power to all four wheels. Gearshift paddles weren’t used on the steering wheel, which actually makes it the last rally Impreza of that kind. The car is up for sale at Mohr Klassik GmbH in Boblingen, Germany and is in more than perfect condition to be driven again. No information has been leaked regarding the price.
